The ZEIT magazine features the stories of eight survivors of the Bataclan attack in Paris this week. After one year, many of them are still heavily traumatized, unable to work, suffering, and one can only imagine what this experience of utter helplessness does to people.
However, it is even harder to imagine what it feels like to experience this very helplessness on a daily basis. Refugees from war-ridden areas may have seen several Bataclans, over and over again. Do you ever get used to it?
